SAVAGE seamless studio background paper that’s happy to take a supporting role
THE COMPANY WITH A LONG HISTORY BEHIND THEM
1937 was the year that saw the opening of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Spanish Civil War was raging, the first jet engine was tested in Rugby by Frank Whittle and in the small town of Chandler, 20 or so miles south east of Phoenix, Arizona, Savage Universal was established as a manufacturer of quality board and paper products.
A family business from the first day of trading, the primary focus of Savage was, and still is, to create products to help photographers be successful.
Epson launched the SQ-2000, their first commercial inkjet printer in October 1994 and the course of photographic print was changed forever. Of course, new print technology is rendered useless without new media to print on.
I SEE YOUR TRUE COLOURS SHINING THROUGH
In the earliest versions of Savage’s background roll (or backdrop) collection, black and white and various shades of both were the core components of the range. Allowing the subject matter to take centre stage.
But as the understanding of colour and it’s impact on composition became more prevalent, the Savage range began to encompass a wide variety of colours, once more with a broad selection of shades to complement the core palette.
MORE COLOURS THAN JOSEPH’S DREAMCOAT
